Hyundai Launches IONIQ 5 N NPX1 For 2024

The Hyundai Motor Company introduces their new electric vehicle by launching the IONIQ 5 N NPX1 at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. The South Korean manufacturer is indeed planning to enhance the ownership experience of high-performance electric vehicles in the N series, which was initially introduced in 2019. Hyundai is also continuously developing high-quality tuning components for their customers, such as in the internal combustion engine (ICE) powered Evante N, i30 N, and i20 N series. Hyundai now also plans to offer specialized tuning components for all-electric N models, including the IONIQ 5 N.

Vice President of the N Brand Group at Hyundai Motor Company, Park Joon, stated that in 2024, they will take a step forward as leaders in new tuning components suitable for the era of high-performance electric vehicles, as demonstrated in the NPX1 concept model. "Not limited to tuning parts, we are also developing software adjustments, such as sound calibration and vehicle updates through over-the-air [OTA] updates that will open up a truly new category of EV customization for a bright future in the tuning community," he said in an official statement on Friday (12/1).

As for the NPX1 concept model, it showcases a range of special N enhancements that will soon be available for purchase from the N Performance Parts catalog. These include a carbon front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear wing spoiler, lightweight hybrid carbon wheels, high-performance brake pads, and lowering springs. The interior of this concept model is also further embellished with Alcantara material and racing bucket seats.

The N Performance Parts prototypes applied to the NPX1 concept will be further developed for production in preparation for sales in 2024. Starting with the IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai N will expand the availability of N Performance Parts for all N models.
