SEVENTEEN Achieves Daesang for Album of The Year at GDA 2024
The K-pop group SEVENTEEN clinched the top honor of 'daesang' at the Golden Disc Awards 2024 held a few nights ago on Saturday, January 6, 2024. S.Coups and his fellow members took home the prestigious Album of The Year award for their album titled FML, released in April 2023.
This daesang trophy stands as one of SEVENTEEN's most significant victories in their decade-long career. In his winning speech, the leader, S.Coups, found himself at a loss for words, expressing, "We receive Album of The Year. I don't know what to say. We've been in this industry for 10 years," shared S.Coups.
Choi Seungcheol, the man behind the name, extended his gratitude to all the members and mentioned Jeonghan, who was absent, saying, "Thank you to all the members. I hope Jeonghan could be here, but even so, Jeonghan is still in our hearts," said S.Coups. Additionally, Mingyu expressed his honor and pride in SEVENTEEN's achievement, stating that they have been steadily progressing since their debut 10 years ago.
Since our debut 10 years ago, we have been taking steps forward little by little. I feel honored and proud to receive this award," Mingyu revealed. Meanwhile, Woozi, a member and the creator of SEVENTEEN's hit songs, shared his feelings about the past 10 years in the music industry.
He promised to present even better music in the future as a testament to his love for SEVENTEEN and their fans, CARAT. "Over the 10-plus years of creating music, I have always worked hard. With every new piece of music, I have encountered challenges," said Woozi.
But for CARAT and the members, I want to say that I love you. I will continue to showcase great music for all of you. Maybe I'm too confident, but we will create extraordinary music again this year," he added. Apart from securing the daesang, SEVENTEEN also received a second award for the best digital song with the track 'Super.'
During the GDA event, SEVENTEEN made their debut performance in Indonesia, presenting the song 'Super' for the first time. They also performed 'Ima - Even If The World Ends Tomorrow' (Korean version) and 'God of Music.'
